chilly air wafting through the house at night through the open windows
the constant smell of freshly cut grass
the constant sound of birds of different species singing to one another in all their different languages
the tall majestic trees
the sight of moss-covered rocks
my kids running around in and out of the house in their pajamas all morning
the sweet melodic (occasional consonant dropping) tone of friendly people greeting me as I walk by
the mouth-watering rich taste of barbecue and it’s sidekick the perfect southern accompniment to any meal, the ever-addictive sweet tea
the smell of wood burning in a fireplace early in the morning
seeing family members looking and living well
driving through long winding roads
the smell of coffee first thing in the morning
gorgeous bellowing white and pink dogwood trees that line friendly neighborhood streets
and dark gloomy rainy days like today
These are just a few things I am appreciating while visiting family in Northeast Tennessee.

So much to be thankful for! π Gorgeous pictures!
Thank you Camie!!
Fabulous photographs! Thanks for sharing. I’ve got 5 boys and love photographing them, but they don’t like to pose in the grass. Best I can get are action lacrosse pics.
I hear you TheDaddyBlitz! I try not to “pose” them too much but a really nice picture of their eyes sometimes requires me to BEG them to stand still!!
Out of curiosity, what lens are you shooting with? I’m guessing a fixed?
Canon 70-200 f/4 is
Some are with canon 100 and others the 24-105
That’s a great lens. I use a Nikor 18-200mm 3.5-5.6 (decent) and a 35-70 f2.8 (great but odd focal length). Been itching for a 50mm or 85mm f1.4.
I love talking shop! Those 3 lenses are insane! I am debating on selling my sigma 85 art for the Canon 85 1.8. Just not what I was hoping for. I had originally saved for and intended to buy the 85 1.2 but I allowed myself to be persuaded to go for the new sigma art line. Ugh. So disappointed. I too am thinking another 50. I had both the 1.8 and 1.4. Sold both.
I’ve always been advised against sigma. I try to stay Nikor since I shoot Nikon. Why’d ya sell the 50?! π
Good question!! I’m glad to hear someone else say that about Sigma. The Art line has been getting so much praise!!!
